Time Monolink HM Carbon Road Stem
If the standard for cycling component performance is measured in racing miles, then the Time Monolink HM Carbon Stem is on an unprecedented breakaway. Designed on the same chassis as the Monolink Ulteam stem (which has the distinct honor of being the only full-carbon stem used in the pro peloton), the Monolink HM is distinguished only by stainless steel bolts and aluminum alloy clamp braces. Otherwise, you are getting the same stiff, vibration dampening performance of a full High Modulus carbon fiber body, at a weight penalty of fewer than ten grams. Instead of using pre-preg carbon sheets for these stems, Time custom-weaves proprietary tubular carbon braids over a wax skeleton, and then places the flexible structure in a mold for resin injection. When the wax melts, the finished product is immensely stiff, incredibly light, and exponentially more resistant to failure under stressliterally a benchmark for road cycling performance.
