EVENT
Red Bull Energy Drink and J&A Productions have joined forces to bring the most exciting street luge event ever created to downtown San Francisco. Now in its second year, Red Bull Streets of San Francisco features 48 of the world's best street lugers careening down the Photo Courtest of Red Bull pavement at speeds of over 60-mph! The athletes will not only be competing for the coveted title, but also for a piece of the $10,000 purse.

WHERE, WHEN & WHO
The Red Bull Streets of San Francisco will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2000. The course is located on Deharo Street, between Southern Heights and Mariposa. It incorporates three natural big-air jumps designed to test the strength, endurance and the ability of the most extreme street lugers ever assembled.

RACE FORMAT
This is a one of a kind event that adds three natural big air jumps to one of the world's fastest street luge courses. The big air jumps are made from the natural tiered streets of San Francisco and test all the competitors' ability to adapt to the most dangerous course in the world. The course is unique because there are no turns; it is all about holding on for as long as you can.

Photo Courtest of Red Bull The first heat will consist of the 48 competitors split into groups of six racing down Deharo Street, within arms length of each other. The top two finishers from each of the six races will advance to the next round, until one person is left and crowned winner of the six-man heat.

The second heat consists of the 48 competitors divided into groups of four. Similar to the first heat, the top two lugers from each of the races will advance to the next round, until one person is left and crowned the winner of the six-man heat.
